Each time I’m asked to share an impactful piece of advice; I always find myself going back to my first mentor who shared something that I’ve never forgotten. Before accepting his first investment banking job, his father told him, “in life, as in business, to succeed, people have to like you, trust you and respect you with a major emphasis on the ‘like’ component.” 

Stop for a moment and consider the relationships in your life; be it personal or professional, chances are, those people have a role in your life because you’re fond of them.  It’s the rarest of occasions when you purposefully hang around someone you genuinely dislike.   As I observe those I most admire, I see individuals who are sincere, never phony, and always, always telling the truth – enter Dave Kerpen.  Since founding Likeable Media, Dave and his wife, Carrie have been on an amazing trajectory to demonstrate that not only is likability an intelligent business strategy.
