If there was ever a time for uncensored possibilities thinking, it is now! we are truly fortunate to be living at a time in history where amazing opportunities are all around us. Technology is enabling millions to pursue their entrepreneurial passions. Social networks are re-defining what it means to be a global citizens. And most important of all, a refreshing spirit of consciousness seems to be emerging and spreading a message of hope and optimism to millions worldwide. My friend and co-author of the epic book “The Art of Possibility” Rosamund Zander, likes to say that “Possibility is only one sentence away” – what a great mantra to live by.
If you’ve read the book, you undoubtedly discovered that the secret to life is actually very simple – “It’s all invented.” Yet because we’re creatures of habit, most of us sleepwalk through life, never really appreciating the incredible gifts that each of us posse. we create frames in our mind that define and confine what we perceive to be possible – “Every problem, every dilemma, every dead end we find ourselves facing in life, only appears unsolvable inside a particular frame or point of view. Enlarge the box, or create another frame around the data, and problems vanish, while new opportunities appear.”
The greatest lesson that I’ve learned from Roz and Ben over the past 10 years is that we are the stories that we tell ourselves. Embrace the practices that are beautifully laid out in the book and your view of the world will totally change ~ “When you bring to mind ‘It’s all invented,’ you remember that its all a story you tell-not just some of it, but all of it. And remember, too, that every story you tell is founded on a network of hidden assumptions. If you learn to notice and distinguish these stories, you will be able to break through the barriers of any ‘box that contains unwanted conditions and create other conditions or narratives that support the life you envision for yourself and those around you.”
