There’s a great piece of Tao Te Ching wisdom that I keep close by to remind me of the importance of letting go – ‘when I let go of what I am, I become what I might be. When I let go of what I have, I receive what I need.’ There’s certainly nothing easy about leaving the past behind, but one of the great lessons that life teaches us is the power of the present moment. Personally, I find the more that I say ‘yes’ to the present moment, the more peaceful I become and the happier I get. Much of that belief is anchored by my Faith in God, and that’s why I resonate so much with Mary Lou Quinlan’s God Box project.
