Twitter for Good
In August of last year, we held a gathering for 40 professional athletes and entrepreneurs to explore the intersection of sports and business. Luckily, we had the priviliedge of hearing from Hip Hop mogul, Russell Simmons who shared a simple message, but one that didn’t immediately resonate with the star personalities that filled the room. He told them that “everything starts with giving”; and while many eyes were gazing that day, I was inspired to finally see the face behind the brand -@UncleRUSH that I had been following for two years on Twitter. Russell was the same in person as he is in cyberspace. His message was consistent; filled with the candor and inspiration that clearly demonstrates his unwavering commitment to make a difference in the world. Not only does @UncleRUSH have 2.2 million people who follow him, more importantly, he has the kind of tribe that can shift movements.
