Watching the Olympic games, you can’t help but marvel at the incredible athleticism, resilience and courage it takes to compete at such a high level.  Of course, the privilege to compete on such a stage is reserved for the world’s elite athletes, still there’s something magical that’s ignited once that Olympic flame is lit.  This past Saturday as the United States hockey team scored another epic victory over the hometown favorite Russian National Team, a new hero emerged.  T.J. Oshie is a very good hockey player with the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, but within a five minute span at the Sochi Games, he emerged as a superstar who will forever be remembered as the one who scored four times on six shots during the shootout to help the Americans prevail.

As a huge hockey fan, I’m excited to see the impact this will have on Oshie’s NHL career, still I’m fascinated by what it takes for an already great athlete to get even better.  Dr. Sean Richardson is a former athlete who’s dedicating his work to the study of excellence, and even though we’ve been conditioned to understand the power of the mind, few of us have learned how to turn it into a discipline.  If you’re serious, start by asking this question —–
