Doing Good & Making Money
A large percentage of the time, it seems pretty clear that what’s great for the community is also great for business. Personally, it seems pretty ideal to make money while doing good for the environment simultaneously. In 2005, the first Clinton Global Initiative brought world leaders, CEOs and humanitarians together to address ways to produce shared value. The rise of social entrepreneurship is exemplified by Jen Boulden who co-founded Ideal Bite in that same year. Her business catered to the untapped “light green consumer” market. She quickly grew her company to over 500,000 subscribers to the “Daily Eco Email” before selling the venture to The Walt Disney Company 3 years later. She shares how she did good while making money in her interview here —
