Work Simply, Live Fully

As many of our members know, I have the highest regard for Warren Buffett, considered by many as the most admired investor of our generation, much is made of his investment and philanthropic track-record. And, deservedly so, still far less is known about the way he approaches his life and how he manages his time. By all accounts, Buffett lives a simple life; he doesn’t indulge and hardly veers outside his circle of competence, but the one thing that has always stood out to me is his devotion to thinking.  “I insist on a lot of time being spent, almost every day, to  just sit and think…”  He stated,  “..That is very uncommon in American business.  I read and think.  So I do more reading and thinking, and make less impulse decisions than most people in business.  I do it because I like this kind of life”

Whether he’s celebrating a prized acquisition or reminding us that the sky is not falling; Buffett’s demeanor is always calm and poised.  And as I prepared to speak with Carson Tate about what it means to ‘Work Simply and Live Fully,’ I couldn’t help but admire how one of the most important individuals on the planet could commit to such a lifestyle.
