One of the defining mantras that has guided my professional journey has always been Margaret Mead’s plea to ‘never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Each day, as I look at the bright young minds of this generation, I’ve never been more optimistic at the opportunities that await them.  They’re as intelligent as they are courageous; as fearless as they are resilient, and as uplifting as they are compassionate.  Their actions are convincing us all that no problem is too big for them to solve. No one exemplifies that more than the founder of Pencils of Promise, Adam Braun.

Since graduating from Brown University, Braun has been ‘in contemplation of a reality’ that eradicates education inequality around the world; ‘one child, one pencil at a time.’  Spend five minutes with Adam, and you’ll know why he was born to lead a global movement.  While his passion and temperament are infectious, its his business augment that’s his true genius.
