Moe and Russell meet again to discuss the connection between inner peace and outward success.
Success Through Stillness
On my thirty-first birthday, I received a card from a good friend that I will forever treasure – it was a simple notecard with those words from Buddha etched on it “There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.” For whatever reason, those words hit a cord with me. My initial reaction was one of inspiration to dream bigger dreams; especially for our business, still the more I contemplated the true essence of those words, I was convinced that there was something missing. Luckily, I had just started to read Phil Jackson’s book – Sacred Hoops.
Still one of the most impactful books that I’ve read, Jackson opened my eyes to the notion of our own lives being the instrument with which each of us experiments with the truth. It’s the journey of a lifetime, but one that’s not possible with a cluttered mind.
Hip-hop icon, Russell Simmons has been using mediation to declutter his mind for over 15 years now; and in his latest book – Success Through Stillness: Meditation Made Simple – he shares this simple mantra to help you access your potential.
