For me, it’s hard to believe a consumer brand today that doesn’t adhere to A.G. Lafley’s mantra of ‘The Consumer is Boss’. In all aspects of our lives, we’re all consumers, and as such, we tend to be particularly attracted to those brands committed to improving our lives. We shop Amazon because it’s ultra simple and convenient, we trust Google because they’re reliable, and we fly Southwest because they’re transparent. The great irony, however, is that while most of us have far more rewarding experiences than we do negative ones; we’re far quicker to spread the negative ones – think United Airlines and Walmart.
